World Vision

How are the "lost pounds" reported, calculated and tracked with World Vision?
Each Pound for a Pound member is given a personal database using a username and password.  Our members are encouraged to  report  weight lost each week on a specific day.  Every Monday, our staff goes into our administration site and calculates the total weight lost for each feeding project by all members worldwide.  We translate each pound into a $1 donation and send it directly to World Vision each week.  World Vision has set up a personal donation page for us that keeps track of all our giving.  Those reports are made available to our members several times a year.

How do I know which project to choose?
We support feeding projects with both World Vision and America's Second Harvest.  Each Pound for a Pound member has a choice of choosing up to two feeding projects that interest them.  Their weight loss efforts are divided between the two projects and clearly outlined in the member's personal database online.  The member will always know exactly how many kids they've fed to date.

How did you figure that $1 equals a pound?
It is a standard understanding industry wide that, in essence, $1 will offer food and water to a child for an entire day.  We have chosen projects with World Vision that offer government grants allowing us to  multiply our efforts.  For that reason the yield is so high...one pound or $1 literally does feed 15-21 children food and water for an entire day.

What detailed reporting is available to substantiate claims of donations based on customer weight loss results?
World Vision has set up a personal donation page to track our weekly donations.  We make that information available several times a year to our members so they can be well aware of the "impact" of their efforts.  This also sets up a wonderful checks and balance system to ensure accuracy and accountability.
